Medical Upgrade Program
The Medical Upgrade Program is primarily aimed at increasing the injured workers
fitness for work through a co-ordinated multidisciplinary approach to address
physical, psychosocial and work-related barriers. The program is aimed at workers
who are having difficulties with achieving further medical certificate upgrades
and low-moderate levels of psychosocial and environmental barriers exist.
Program Goals
- Significant increase of fitness for work enabling strong upgrade of medical certificate

- Further progress of vocational upgrading or commencement of Job Placement Program (JPP)
- Minimisation of fear of activity/ perceived beliefs of activity
- Cessation of all passive treatments
- Rationalisation of medication
- Decrease reliance on aides and equipment
